Facebook frenzy!
Were you one of the tens of thousands of people who saw this photo on Facebook earlier this year?

It captures the breathtaking experience of one of our tour guides, Scotty Connell – on a Faraway Bay day trip – immersed under a magnificent wall of water at Monitor Falls.

Posted on Tourism Australia’s Facebook page, as well as several other sites, the shot went viral, generating a frenzy of almost 30,000 Likes, plus 4,200+ shares and 460+ comments!

If you haven’t already, be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest to see more amazing photos, just like this one!

Ancient Rock Art Retreat
As home to one of the Kimberley region’s most prolific collections of Indigenous rock art, we have been proud to host two exclusive Rock Art Retreats this year.

Led by renowned archaeologist Lee Scott-Virtue and respected Aboriginal elder Ju Ju Wilson (pictured left), our guests witnessed rock art that is thousands of years old, including breathtaking examples of Bradshaw art – that are only accessible from Faraway Bay.

Back at the camp, guests were captivated by Ju Ju’s storytelling and enjoyed the privilege of watching her paint.

Meet a Faraway friend
Faraway Bay has long been a popular meeting place for more than just our guests.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be made to feel welcome by our friendly local wildlife and abundant birdlife.

Rainbow Bee-Eaters escort you on your 4WD journey from the Faraway Bay airstrip to the camp. Blue-Winged Kookaburras flash past the kapok trees as you cool off under your alfresco shower. Enjoy breakfast with resident Sea Eagles, while watching tiny Double-Barred Finches feeding in a clam shell (top left).

And our resident Brahminy Kites are nesting at the moment, so we may have a new addition to the Faraway family soon!

Incredibly, more than 140 varieties of birds have been recorded at Faraway Bay.

You can also say hello to a friendly Euro kangaroo (left), who pops in for a drink of our fresh spring water most afternoons.
