It's Back to School Time...

Are you excited?  Are you ready?

While we know that many of you have already started your school year and some in other countries are in the middle of their school years, and yes, even some of you school year round...but for many of us in the United States, we are gearing up to begin a new school year.

A new year.  A fresh start.  New plans.  New tools.  New curriculum.  It's a fun time for many of us!  Today I just finished up my back to school shopping, getting those last rolls of tape, folders, and planners.  I have to admit, I LOVE Back to School shopping!!!

I want to take a moment to pray for all of you as we begin a new school year (and even those that are in the midst of your school year).

Dear Lord,

I pray for each of these precious families that have chosen to dedicate time and attention to your children.

Lead our families in a closer walk with You, seeking You first when trials come up, praising You first when things go well.  May our eyes be continually looking for Your will in our lives.

Remind us to seek You daily, personally and together as a family.

Please guide each family to the things that are important to cover in each day.  Open our eyes to see the important things in life, and give us peace in our choices when we do that which You have chosen for us to do.

Give us strength and endurance for the coming year when we hit walls, find frustrations, and feel like we are failing.

Help us to overcome struggles in our habits, which hinder us in our day to day activities.

Be with our plans.  May they bring glory to You, as we teach Your children.

Father, ever keep before us the times in which we live.  Help us to take advantage of opportunities to share You with others and to share Your love with others.

May you send a special blessing on each family as is Your will to share with them, for you know their needs.

Be with us all, send Your Holy Spirit to direct our paths and comfort us in times of need.

Forgive us for our failings.  Encourage us to continue in the path You have before us.  Give us strength and power to do Your will.

Thank You Father for hearing this prayer.
In Jesus name I pray,

Editor's Note

Thoughts for this coming school year...

It appears God has been working in my heart.  Moving me to uncomfortable places.  Causing me to search with such fervor that I cannot rest until I have found answers.  And when my heart finds answers it appears that soon I must be tested in that very area.  And I cry for the times I have failed to meet the test.

Thankfully, God does not give up on me, but simply uses my failure as a chance to teach me about my own heart.  Oh, that I could be firm in my resolve, but situations present themselves to such I am unable to battle alone.  It is then, that I realize how much I need my Savior.

Blog Category Review

Have you done much searching around the blog?  One way you can find items is to click on a category and to view the posts on a particular category topic.

The "Principles of True Education" category is great for parents and those teaching your children.  We share these principles not to judge anyone in their current situation, but to encourage everyone (even ourselves) to seek a higher (heavenly) goal when it comes to educating their children.  Sometimes our priorities are out of order, sometimes our homeschool has become boring, sometimes we just need new ideas.  Not everyone has time to research all the counsel given to us, so we try to share quotes and thoughts that can encourage you.  We don't aim to point fingers; we only aim to point you to God's counsel when it comes to education.
