The Humility of Heart and Mind

II Corinthians 4:5
'For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake'

Zoya Ministries once again accomplished another great mission trip to Guatemala in July, 2016.

This mission trip was a special and unique one in which God used the fifteen-member team from the United States in so many different ways that far exceeded our expectations.

We started each day with a devotional bible study and prayer focusing our eyes, hearts and minds on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our Faith, and by whose grace we have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God [Ephesians 2:8].

Out of the many ways God used the Zoya Ministries team in Guatemala this summer, one thing we did which we had not done before in the ten years since Zoya Ministries has been conducting mission trips - was the washing of the feet of the residents served by the Association de Vida in San Miguel
Duenas Village.

It was amazing how members of our team took turns washing the feet of those wonderful and precious children and adults, many of whom were disabled or had special needs.

We washed their feet, put new socks and shoes on their feet, and prayed for them just like Jesus washed the feet of his disciples in John 13:5. ['After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded'].

For Jesus, washing the feet of His disciples was a display of His humility and His servanthood.

Jesus gave us an example of what it really means to be a follower of Jesus.  As followers of Jesus, He has called us to emulate Him, serving others in humility of heart and mind, because true greatness in His kingdom is attained by those with a servant's heart.  [
Mathew 20:28: 'Even as the Son of man came not be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many'].

We also saw the humility of Jesus demonstrated by our host, the Arms of Jesus staff who showed us the greatest hospitality imaginable.  They waited on us, they served us, drove us to and from the various destinations where we ministered to the people of Guatemala.

Let us continue to serve the Lord Jesus and the people of God in humility of heart and mind, and God Himself will greatly reward us.

Training Boys to Become Men of God

In August 2016, the Ministry of Mercy orphanage, hosted the annual Christian Boys' Camp.  We thank God for what he did in the lives of the boys - the teaching, prayer and activities and for the more than fifty adults who helped make this week successful.

The Next Generation

Passing the mantle to the next generation (The Gross family and friends)

A team of five missionaries from Dallas led by Mama Gross' daughter, Mrs Ruth Carlson visited the MoM orphanages in July to help with repairs and maintenance around the campuses and to love and play with the children.   Mama Gross was the founder of MoM and her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren and their friends as they continue the work that she began so many years ago.
