Time for Halloween Horror!
THIS WEEK MY VERY FIRST BOOK, Cage of Bones & Other Deadly Obsessions is being offered on a Kindle Countdown Deal for just $0.99 cents. As I write this, the little countdown clock on Amazon says 4 days, 6 hours left...the digital sands of time are slipping through the hourglass!
Cage of Bones originally was issued as a limited edition hardcover from Delirium Books way back in 2000. Only 300 copies were printed (they were all signed and numbered as a collectors edition release). The collection includes 20 stories, most of them erotic horror. Several of them have been reprinted a number of times, including “Pumpkin Head,” which has become one of my most popular Halloween stories (it was originally printed in Grue Magazine in 1999) and “Cage of Bones,” which originally appeared in the Necro Publications magazine Into The Darkness in 1994.
Download a copy today while it's 99 cents... and please spread the word!

The Pumpkin Man, Siren and The 13th are just $1.99 this month!
AMAZON.COM HAS POSTED a big scary promotion for October -- they've put 51 horror novels on sale for just $1.99. There are books by Richard Laymon (a slew of them, actually), as well as Jack Ketchum, Nate Kenyon, W.D. Gagliani, John Skipp and more. And they've included three of my novels on the list -- The 13th, Siren and The Pumpkin Man. I'm hoping a lot of people will discover and take advantage of this sale... so if you're a fan of horror (and if you're not, why are you on my mailing list LOL?) take a look and spread the word!

This is the week...
The Family Tree is released on Tuesday!
MY 8TH NOVEL, The Family Tree will finally be released on Tuesday, October 7th! Over the past month, some print copies have gotten into circulation (I had pre-release copies at the HorrorHound Weekend in Indianapolis and the Chicago Horror Film Festival last month). And actually Amazon is already selling the print copies so the first 5-star review has already been posted... but the e-books won't be released until Tuesday.
You can pre-order copies now on Amazon Barnes & Noble and Samhain. Here is the back cover description:
Its roots are old...and twisted!
The blood of the tree is its sap. It has sustained Scott Belvedere’s family for generations. It’s the secret ingredient behind the family’s intoxicating ale and bourbon, among other elixirs. But only when Scott inherits The Family Tree Inn, deep in the hills of Virginia, does he learn anything about his family, its symbiotic history, or the mammoth, ancient tree around which the inn is literally built. And after he stumbles upon the bony secrets hidden in its roots, while in the welcoming arms of the innkeeper’s daughter, he realizes that not only is blood thicker than water—it’s the only thing that might save him from the hideous fate of his ancestors…
I am really looking forward to seeing this book hit the streets. Do take a look... and let me know what you think!

More to come...
Halloween is just getting started
LAST NIGHT, I WENT TO my first Halloween-theme wedding. My friends Lon and Amy actually did the formal deed last year in a private ceremony on Halloween, and this year they staged a renewal and party for friends and family.
One of the coolest ideas I've seen? Instead of lighting a unity candle, they lit a unity Jack-O-Lantern! I wish them many, many years of happy mutual "weirdness" together!
Lon is actually the guy who designed the websites for Siren, The 13th and The Pumpkin Man... so some of you are already familiar with his work. He also is the man behind the online Ouija Board for The Pumpkin Man (go ask the Ouija Board questions here).
It was a great way to start the season... we spent this afternoon at a Pumpkin Farm and brought back the biggest pumpkin I've ever bought -- a 45 pounder. Should be interesting to carve!
I hope you all have a great month... and I'm sure we'll talk again before it's all over!
Yours in Dark Arts,
