What Are the Benefits of Hiring a Personal Injury Lawyer?

A personal injury lawyer is more than just a legal professional. When you hire a top-rated lawyer, you are choosing someone to be your advocate and an expert who can handle the paperwork, negotiations, and red tape surrounding your accident claim. We want to assist you in understanding when and why it's best to put your claim in the hands of an expert Georgia, personal injury lawyer.

3 Reasons to Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer in Georgia

1. Attorney fees are likely far less than your medical care costs.

Many potential plaintiffs are discouraged from signing with litigation attorneys because "billable hours" can scare away accident victims, especially after paying an exorbitant hourly fee. Though that can be costly, this possible expense could be much less than your medical bills.

Additionally, some personal injury attorneys only take a specific lump sum of your damage payments. Thus, nothing comes out of your pocket. Yes, you might lose a small percentage of your $12,000 settlement, for example, but you have to ask yourself: Would you have received the $12,000 settlement without legal representation? Unlikely.

Here at the Law Office of Julie C. Moore, we offer 100% Free Case Evaluations for personal injury cases.

2. Attorneys can fight the insurance companies and big corporations for you.

If another individual caused the accident, their insurance company should pay for your medical bills. Insurance companies, however, will not make profits if they pay the total price of every claimant's accident. Therefore, the company will often try to rush things and offer you the smallest absolute possible. Without the counsel of a lawyer, you may not be able to determine what is acceptable compensation.

These companies have legal counsel and attorneys working tirelessly to keep their potential costs down. This means you should have an attorney on your side, making sure it is a fair fight.

3. Settlements are by no means an easy process.

Some plaintiffs are wrong to believe that a settlement means they do not need to hire an attorney. Personal injury attorneys, however, are experts at managing settlements.

Indeed, most personal injury cases never see the inside of a courtroom. So, an experienced lawyer not only knows what a fair settlement looks like but can also evaluate your case to ensure all of your bills and expenses are covered by the settlement.

Damage calculations often overlook serious medical expenses and financial compensation to your loved ones, but an experienced lawyer will spot all the missing elements. Outside of the reasons above, it is also crucial to remember that a lawyer has a legal and ethical duty to protect your best interests in a lawsuit. By taking you as a client, your lawyer pledges to do everything in their power to win as much compensation as possible for you.

Yes, lawyers can get you more cash in almost every case because they have the training, knowledge, expertise, and talent to make this happen. Lawyers that neglect their clients face stiff penalties and revocation of their license. You may lose your lawsuit—even with the most professional of lawyers—but the primary responsibility of a lawyer is to give your claim a fighting chance.

Fun Holiday Recipe

Oreo Candy Bar Monster Truffles

2 Dozen Truffles  |  Prep: 20 mins.  |  Total Freeze Time: 1 hr. 5 min.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (14-oz.) package Oreos
  • 1 (8-oz.) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 c. finely chopped Snickers
  • 1/2 c. Reese's Pieces, chopped
  • 1 1/4 c. white chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp. coconut or vegetable oil
  • Gel food coloring
  • Candy eyeballs
  • Sprinkles

Directions:

  1. In a food processor, pulse Oreos until fine crumbs form. Dump Oreo crumbs into a medium bowl and stir in cream cheese until well combined. Stir in Snickers and Reese's until well combined.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a small cookie scoop, form the mixture into small balls. Place on a prepared baking sheet and freeze until slightly hardened for about 30 minutes.
  3. In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate and oil. Microwave until just melted and stir until smooth, about 2 minutes. Stir ten drops of gel coloring into the melted white chocolate and add more drops until the desired color is achieved. If you make multiple colors for your truffles, separate the white chocolate into smaller batches before adding different colors.
  4. Dip one frozen ball into melted color chocolate until coated, remove using a fork, letting excess melted chocolate drip back into the bowl. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Press an eyeball into the top side of the coated truffle and sprinkle the top with some sprinkles.
  6. Repeat with remaining frozen balls and melted white chocolate. Freeze until chocolate hardens, about 15 minutes.
Halloween Fun From Julie

I know that for many of us, myself included, our furbabies are very important! So, why should they be left out of the Halloween dress-up fun?!

However, let's be real. Most dogs and cats will not tolerate much of a costume for long, so simple is best!

If you decide to dress up your pet this Halloween, please post your pictures on the Law Office of Julie C. Moore Facebook page. We LOVE seeing everyone's furbabies!

Teenage Thief Gets A Gross Surprise

A 14-year-old Seattle boy made a mistake he will never forget. The boy, who attempted to siphon gas from an RV, received instant punishment for his thievery.

″As it turned out, the suspect was attempting to steal gasoline and got the sewage tank instead,″ Officer Tom Umporowicz reported.

The Seattle Police got a call early morning from Dennis Quigly, owner of the vehicle. Quigly was inside the parked motor home when he heard strange noises outside.

Once the Police officers arrived, they quickly found raw sewage on the ground not too far from the motor home. Nearby they found a 14-year-old boy sick and curled up next to a car.

Quigly, the motorhome owner, said he declined to press charges in the incident, figuring the boy, who was not identified, had already been punished enough.

Happy Halloween from Julie and her team!
