And the Oscar goes to...
No, we're not handing out Oscars. But we are recognizing Hollywood's big night—that yearly ritual celebrating the achievements of the many people who bring to life stories and worlds that touch us deeply.

Once a year, One Earth Film Festival invites you to "go to the movies" with us. To journey to places near and far, to look deeply at the world we inhabit in all its beauty and wonder. To participate in our programs and discussions and then find room in your life to take up the challenges examined by the films we present. To seek solutions that truly make a difference for the environment. 

Along with you tonight, One Earth Film Festival celebrates the power of film to reveal and transform. And later this week, we expect to "see you at the movies," when the 6th Annual One Earth Film Festival begins its nine-day run, March 3-12. Meanwhile, below find links to a few trailers that will give you a glimpse of this year's festival.

Sustainable (Documentary Trailer)
A vital investigation of the economic and environmental instability of America’s food system, from the agricultural issues we face — soil loss, water depletion, climate change, pesticide use — to the community of leaders who are determined to fix it. Sustainable is a film about the land, the people who work it and what must be done to sustain it for future generations.

Habitats!, Slugs + Bugs and Kid of the Wild

Habitats! Join us for a morning of sing a-longs about animals in their habitats, plus short films Slugs and Bugs, and Kid of the Wild. Families will learn about opportunities for connecting with local nature through Go Green Oak Park, The Frog Lady (who will bring her reptile friends), the Park District of Oak Park/Austin Gardens Nature Center, and the Forest Preserves of Cook County's Trailside Museum. Light refreshments will be served.
