The Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab (J-WEL) is a new initiative at MIT that seeks to promote excellence and transformation in education globally. As an incubator for change in education at MIT and around the world, J-WEL provides a platform that engages educators, technologists, policymakers, and societal leaders in addressing global opportunities for education through online and in-person collaborations, workshops, and information sharing events.

Inaugural J-WEL Week Held at MIT 
The inaugural J-WEL Week was held from October 9-12, 2017 at MIT. The Week’s theme was “The Power of Problem Solving.” Over 100 participants joined us from 27 countries and six continents. Read more.
J-WEL Launches Global Ambassadors Program
J-WEL’s Global Ambassador program puts our goals into action by sending top MIT students to work on meaningful education projects across the globe. For its launch, J-WEL collaborated with MISTI and sent Global Ambassadors to Italy and Jordan to teach hands-on courses for secondary school students. ​Read more.
