28 reasons, 28 days in February, national Library Lovers' Month.
#APLambassador 30 | 28 Reasons to Love Your Library
Dear Social Media Ambassadors,
Most years there’s nothing special about today, the first day in February. But in 2018, we’ve decided to change that, to make today the beginning of a special, month-long valentine to the Library you know and love.
It so happens that February is national Library Lovers’ Month, a reminder to share some #LibraryLove on social media. So starting today and every day until February 28, we’re going to give you a reason to love your Austin Public Library on Facebook and Twitter. That’s 28 reasons! Spoiler alert: some of those reasons are our branches – vital, as all libraries are, to the literate, cultural and digital lives of our neighborhoods and communities. The Library also plays a vital role in providing diverse programs for Austinites. In February we'll be sharing #LibraryLove for African American History Month, and we invite you to these events to help us celebrate.
Another reason to share the love is our Virtual Library, and for this, dear Ambassadors, I and fellow librarians (pictured) at the Central Library are getting on Facebook Live. We’re broadcasting the next episode of our Q&APL Live series on Valentine’s Day (Wednesday, February 14) to answer a burning question: Why should I love my Virtual Library? I bet you have your own answers. Feel free to share them during the broadcast and beyond.
Watch our Facebook @AustinLibrary and Twitter @AustinPublicLib pages throughout February for reasons to share and “heart” the Library. We feel the love whenever you use #APLambassador on social media. This month we encourage you to add #LibraryLove to the love fest. Spanish speakers among us can use #AmoMiBiblioteca ("I love my library").
Thanks for your support! ¡Gracias por tu apoyo!
