#APLambassador 28 | Our most popular titles of 2017 & a thank you!
Hello, Social Media Ambassadors!
My name is Dani, and I work at the Twin Oaks Branch deep in the heart of Austin. I contribute to the Library's Instagram and Twitter pages. I also have a not-so-secret love of lists, and at the end of every year I am rewarded with a plethora of "Best Of" lists. In fact, the Library has released our version of a "Best Of" list with our Most Popular Titles of 2017.
What was the best title you read in 2017? Tag us with #APLambassador and #BestBookIRead2017, take a photo, and/or link to the book in our catalog (if it’s in our collection) and suggest a title to us (if it isn’t). Let’s see if we can blow up the interwebs with all our positive book energy!
Okay, I’ll start. The best book I read in 2017 was Mink River by Brian Doyle. It is heartwarming, poetic, beautiful, tragic and uplifting, but the best aspect of it was how it slowed life down while I was engrossed in it. In this day and age of being bombarded with information, it was very relaxing to feel the world being slowed down, even if just for a bit.
We also wanted to close out the year with a huge thank you to YOU – our Ambassadors! You have been responsible for so many memorable moments throughout 2017, and we can’t thank you enough for being the best at sharing the library love. Here are some of our favorite moments made possible by our Social Media Ambassadors this past year.
That time when Ambassador @thesoundoholic on Twitter had her dog sniff out her next book club read.
That time when Ambassador @kmm628 on Instagram showed us her book tattoo (in response to #APLambassador 23)
Who could forget your 300+ posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Flickr on October 22 when we hosted a group of you for a sneak preview of the new Central Library?
