Fun Run/Walk & Plant LOCAL!

If you are on Pohnpei Island on Saturday, 20th July 7am please join our Fun Run/Walk & Plant event. Walk or run to one of three public sites (Kolonia Elementary, Causeway, Hospital) and plant a local indigenous food. Everyone, of all ages and fitness levels, can participate.

We are asking for donations and volunteers to help support this community planting event. Volunteers are needed to help at the planting sites. Please help increase the CHEEF benefits to our community by donating by check or bank transfer. Please email for more information.

Be a part of change and support the Fun Run/Walk & Plant!

WHO Best Practice Recognition

We have recently been awarded with the Healthy Island Best Practise Recognition by the World Health Organization! Congratulations to all those who have been part of the IFCP team since 2004!

IFCP in New Zealand

Acting Executive Director Emihner Johnson recently attended a UNESCO international experts meeting on Cycles of change – traditional calendars for informing climate change policies. Indigenous knowledge experts of the Pacific and scientists engaged in discussions on seasonal calendars and designing policies for climate change.

Go Local Talk to 779 people in June only!

This month we have delivered the Go Local message to 779 students and adults from around the world! New Peace Corps trainees, University of Washington students and faculty, Catholic youth camp, Area Health Education Center, Xavier High Achiever program and indigenous experts from around the Pacific are just a few who have heard about the benefits of going local.
