Economic Development Incentive (EDI) Grants - 2017

Information about applying for the 2017 EDI grants offered through the CDA/First Stop Shop will be made available on September 8

We have been working toward adjusting the time frame on these grants to better coordinate with city budgeting and align with the calendar year, and this year we have finally done it!

Applications will be due 11/4/2016, with award notifications by 11/21/2016, and projects must be completed no later than 12/31/2017. The grant program will be very similar to last year, so start thinking about projects now!
Collective Impact Update - SCALE 50 by 30: Live ~ Learn ~ Earn

The county-wide collective impact project was established to try to align resources/people/committees across different groups to focus on the issues of housing, transportation, workforce and education (because today's 3rd graders are tomorrow's workforce). SCALE (Scott County Association for Leadership and Efficiency) is the backbone for this structure with role of convening local stakeholders, and we have a steering committee and four different working groups to address the four identified issues.

The kickoff for the initiative was held in April 2016 and the steering committee and working groups have been meeting monthly since. Each group has been going through the process of education (common ground to start from), identification of existing resources, data collection and analysis, and now the groups are beginning to identify a population group to focus on initially and move into goal setting and development of work plans.

A website has been created with information about the initiative, each of the working groups, meeting times, etc. Check it out! http://www.livelearnearn.org/
Maxfield Housing and Commercial/Industrial Studies

The long awaited housing and C/I studies are still a work in progress!  Maxfield continues to work on pulling together some final information before a draft will be available (hopefully by end of August). Once the draft is available it will be shared with the cities and Scott County for review and input. The finalized report most likely won't be available until October/November. Stay tuned!
