Benny Benack “The Third…Place!”
BB3 wins Third Prize at 2020-21 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition

Taking place at NJPAC Sunday night, BB3 won Third Prize from a field of more than 600 applicants, and is the first male award winner in the competition’s history.

What an honor it was to share the stage with the other wonderful singers who were finalists in this year’s Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition! I may not have won first place, but I still think third is pretty good for a trumpet player, eh? ;)

In general, it is such a blessing to see NYC opening back up, and many places around the country enjoying newfound life after the vaccines have emerged! I have gotten back to my busy ways thankfully, and there are a number of chances for you all to catch me coming up. Smalls Jazz Club: Weekly Residency

It’s been such a thrill to see the heartbeat of Jazz in NYC, Smalls Jazz Club back filled with audiences and open late! With NYC’s indoor dining curfew being lifted last week, the club has been able to get back to a real Jam Session! Join me each week with some of the best cats in town…
