It’s been an absolute whirlwind of a year as far as traveling and touring goes, but the last few months have taken the cake! In August I headlined the Telluride Jazz Festival and immediately returned to Japan for the first time since the pandemic to once again teach at the SEIKO Jazz Workshop and perform at the Tokyo Jazz Festival. I’m actually returning to Japan in December already, to tour alongside drummer Tomohiro Mori’s new quartet…tour dates announced soon!
In October, I was blessed to combine two amazing gigs in South America into one big trip (my first time to South America!): I was invited to perform at the legendary Bebop Club in Buenos Aires, where I headlined for two nights and got my cell phone stolen by a motorcycle madman (long story there…). Despite the theft, I had an amazing time in Argentina and cannot wait to be back. From there, I went straight to Brazil where I performed with the incredible singer Liz Rosa, as well as fellow NY artists Emily Braden & Misha Pitagorsky. We played the “Fest Bossa Jazz” Festival on San Miguel de Gostoso beach, and also performed at the Dolores Club in Rio…I had such an amazing time in Brazil as well - my heart will be in South America for a long time!
