1.  EKOenergy organises seminar at European Parliament

One of EKOenergy's main objectives is to provide electricity consumers with correct information.

Sirpa Pietikäinen, Member of the European Parliament and vice-chair of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection, has invited us to organize a Public Hearing at the Parliament, on January 23rd.

2.  EKOenergy preparing for launch in Italy

In Italy, EKOenergy will be launched as a "gold level" of the Italian 100% energia verde label.

The Italian organization REEF presented this plan during the RECS GO Trading seminar in Milan on 6 December 2012. REEF is a partner of EKOenergy network and the NGO behind 100% energy verde label.

“An important opportunity to spread the value of the voluntary certification for both the supplier and the consumer”, said REEF vice president, Mr. Vincenzo Scotti. “We are convinced that EKOenergy is a concrete and effective answer to marketing green product and to support real eco-positioning of all serious “green” companies in Europe”.

4.   Did you know? Climate fund

Chapter 7 of the current version of the EKOenergy criteria proposes to introduce a climate fund: Per MWh of EKOenergy sold, a contribution of minimum 0,10 euro (ten eurocent) has to be made to the EKOenergy Climate Fund. The fund will be used in the most efficient way possible to stimulate further investments in renewable electricity.
