Linda Kagey with Kagey Family Counseling coming to GHATP to speak with us on Reducing Holiday Stress with Self-Care!
For over 25 years Linda Kagey has combined her exceptional skills as a counselor, speaker, trainer, and supervisor to become a leader in the field of addictions. She is best known for her work with family systems in addiction and recovery. She is also sought out for her expertise in addressing the needs of special populations such as adults who were prenatally exposed to alcohol and the dually diagnosed. Her dynamic counseling style has touched and helped change the lives of adolescents and adults, males and females, the affluent as well as the under privileged.
Linda is a licensed chemical dependency counselor in the state of Texas. In addition to counseling services some of her credits include establishing outpatient programs for adults and adolescents, creating family programs for local nonprofit agencies and facilitating organizational team development. She has been selected as one of the counseling staff for John Bradshaw’s inner child workshops. Linda is Co-Chair for the Steering Committee of the Texas collaborative on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders. She is a Board Member for the Coalition of Behavioral Health Services and a member of the Harris County Office of Drug Policy workgroup, and the Texas Recovery Initiative state and local chapters.
Linda facilitates workshops and speaks to groups on various topics including but not limited to: parenting, addiction, codependency, boundaries, children of addicts, enabling, communication, adolescent and adult drug and alcohol use, women and addiction, multiple relapse and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.
Linda does professional consulting regarding program development, team development, problem identification and resolution and program compliance trainings. She does professional training on topics such as motivational interviewing, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, teamwork, program compliance, nonviolent crisis intervention and documentation.
