It's summertime—who needs an intro?

Let's get right into this news blast so you can get your vitamin D on.

Content tip

There's a lot of debate about how long a webpage or blog post needs to be in order to rank (well) on Google. In a recent Instagram post I talked about how any webpage needs to be at least 250 words (about a paragraph) in order for it to even register on Google.

If you're writing webpages or blog posts or articles with keywords, with the goal of ranking high on Google searches, those posts should be ideally at least 1250 words, which is the same length of just over 3 Microsoft Word pages, double spaced. Hope that helps!

Life tip: Fall in love with change

This month, members of my immediate family announced some pretty big life changes.
My parents had to make a very big decision and it seemed like it was going to go against the one I was hoping they'd make, but within a day, they turned it around. I thought about how my siblings and I potentially influenced the decision and took the sporadic communication approach over the course of about a week vs. the one we might have taken if we were all still living together in the same household (which thankfully, we don't!).

A lot of war metaphors started coming to mind, but instead I'll say this: Giving a little bit of love over the course of a longer period of time makes change easier than giving a lot just once.

Stuff my clients are doing

Social entrepreneur of over 25 years Madeleine Shaw is launching her first book, The Greater Good. I've had the honour of working with two of her non-profit organizations, and now on the communications for the book, which launches in October. Pre-order it below, and read my interview with her on B the Change Media.

First time author Chelsea Zhang launched her first book, a travel memoir, just a few days ago and I'm so stoked to have helped with editing and formatting the print and ebook. Check it out below!

I helped health software company Pixalere with the copy for their new website, and also wrote two blogs for vKind on how to throw an epic vegan picnic, and how to celebrate Pride Month as a vegan. It's Pride Week here in Vancouver where I am, so HAPPY PRIDE to all the LGBTQIA2S+ readers!

Media interviews

I was interviewed for the second time on Vegan Mainstream's Pivot! podcast as part of a panel in June, and Melody Owen of Author Nation interviewed me about my 2019 book, The Only Public Relations Guide You'll Ever Need, earlier in the month. Check 'em out below!
I've had a couple of my written blogs read out by Marian Erikson on the Plant Based Briefing podcast, and this one on veganizing your business came out just this week!
