Today is the day!! Alice has been working hard this election season to support our endorsed candidates and ballot measures. You have likely seen our newspaper ads in the Bay Area Reporter, Bay Times, Bay Guardian, or the San Francisco Examiner. We also have created tremendous visibility for our candidates with billboard and newspaper rack advertisements throughout the city. Our field organization has phone banked, canvassed door-to-door, mailed out 100,000 of our slate cards and handed out our slate cards at numerous street festivals and events, and even sent out hundreds of hand-written post cards to voters encouraging them to reference the Alice slate when going to the polls or completing their absentee ballot.
Today, make sure YOU have your voice heard and get to the polls early! Because as Missouri State Senator Jolie Justus says, “If you don’t have a seat at the table, you’re probably on the menu!”
In other exciting news, our November membership meeting on Monday, November 10th at the LGBT Community Center will feature a post-election recap from well-known political analyst David Latterman. Who did better than expected? Who did worse? And, why? What do you think are the implications? Please come and join in on the conversation.
November 17th will be the annual Alice Fall Awards event. This year we will be highlighting a number of accomplished leaders and organizations advancing the LGBT community. The festivities will take place at The Lookout – look for more details soon with the announcement of our awardees!
November is an exciting time for our Alice family and we look forward to celebrating victory with you tonight!
