Some More Amazing Feedback!

We have been getting some fantastic feedback for all the work we are carrying out for the community including the St Mary’s Outdoor Play Project, the historical Maudslie  Graveyard, Stonehouse Park and the Clyde Walkway Community Links Routes. It is great to see the before and after pictures which show off all the hard work of all the volunteers and staff. Check our facebook pages for more info. Well done to everyone!
This month a new group was formed in partnership with Clyde and Avon Valley Landscape Partnership and South Lanarkshire Council at Maudslie Woods. The Maudslie Woods Volunteer Team will meet on the first Thursday of every month to carry out a programme of practical woodland conservation and management tasks. For more details please phone Colleen or check out the CAVLP website event’s page.
This month’s other partners include Lesmahagow Allotments, Castlebank Park and Friends of Stonehouse Park.

On the 13th September the local Fire brigade came to CCI for a ‘Lend a Hand’ day.  Much work was achieved at the Lanark Moor Sensory Garden including some renovation of the pond which the Fire brigade filled up with their hose - let’s hope it keeps its water this time! A huge thanks to everyone who came along.
On the 21st September we look forward to another day with our fantastic new neighbours CEMEX. The previous participants from CEMEX on our Lend a Hand Days have worked extremely hard and we look forward to working with them again very soon.

Breaking News: CCI have decided to form a “Friends of CCI Scotland” group. This was the brainwave of former chairman Ron Waddell who will be given the honour of being Friend Number 1. Application forms and joining packs will be ready soon and further information will follow on how to join.
Our Public Meeting will be held this year on Friday 7th October 2016 at 7.00pm in the barn here at Langloch. If you are free to come along  and hear our achievements over the last year (and have a snack)  please let me know.
CCI will be holding  “Autumn Ablutions”  at the Sensory Garden on Saturday 8th October 2016 at 10.00am. Please come along  with all the family for a day of fun and hard work  and help prepare the area for the winter.  We will also be having a plant swap where you can  bring along cuttings of any overgrown or unwanted plants and swap them for a new addition to your garden. Refreshments will be provided.
CCI have been shortlisted for not one but two awards!
CCI are nominated for Social Enterprise of the Year in the Social Enterprise Scotland Awards and also Diverse Social Enterprise of the Year in the Diversity awards. Fingers crossed for success on the big nights!
Many of us took part in the recent West Highland Way Walk with former volunteer Eleanor Blackford .  It was a fantastic weekend and made all the better by the fact that we were raising money for CCI as we went.  An amazing total of £637 has been raised to date.
Huge thanks again to Eleanor for organising the walk and congratulations on reaching the end!

September has been a month for tidying up loose ends before Winter sets in. Leigh, David and John have been working through various jobs and we are nearing completion. It’s looking great!
Training is high on the agenda at the moment as we support our staff to undertake both mandatory and  PDP courses. Leigh and David will both be sitting their CPCS exams this month, shortly followed by John, so good luck guys.
We are making good progress behind the scenes with potential contracts coming soon and new clients. Busy times ahead but not before a lovely Public Holiday on Monday 26th September!
