The latest news from CCI.

In the pipeline for 2016!

  •  We are planning to set up a small scale horticulture business in the New Year, which will trial the growing of calendula, lavender and other plants to make bath bombs, lip balms, oil infusions and other products.

  • Job Club – a new job club is being set up early next year and will run once a month.
  • We are developing a wildlife garden at Langloch. Ideas for it so far include a pond, a willow structure such as a maze and a chill out zone with fire pit.
  • Lots of conservation/environmental volunteering opportunities coming soon!
  • Upcoming CAVLP sessions for 2016:
     - Outdoor First Aid: 18th and 19th January – spaces are limited and we expect this course to be fully booked – see Colleen for more details.
    - Forest Skills Course: 27th January: Places are almost all booked for this course with a focus on some outdoor cooking delivered by Cath!
    - Capturing the Past : 13th January: Northlight Heritage (archaeologists) are running a series of days at CCI to record  local archaeological sites of intererest.   Come along on 13th January to learn the basic skills to get you started so that you can join in!

December Again!

December is yet again another busy month for the guys. With the completion of Hillhead Primary Kilmarnock at the start of the month we have a busy schedule ahead of us. A few days in our courtyard at Langloch to get things tidied up then we are off to Forth to complete works at the Eco Site there.  Weather permitting we are then over to Drumpellier Park, Coatbridge to install a hard standing area at the ranger’s cottage. All that said what I would want for Christmas…. More contracts and more staff! What Ally, Eamonn and Ryan would want is a bit of peace and quiet from me. Merry Christmas Everybody.
