Opera Australia’s 25th Anniversary tour of Bizet’s Carmen. This year will mark the centenary of the MIA Open. Established in 1920 the Griffith MIA Open is Griffith’s longest running sporting event. There are 2 half marathon events to choose from: the 21.1km individual half marathon or the 2 person team event. Save the date! A Taste of Italy: Griffith is back! The much loved cultural celebration will be held 27 -29 August 2021. Tickets are now available for the Ferragosto Festival and the Griffith Italian Festival. Follow the Visit Griffith Facebook for updates as they become available.

Southern Cotton are proud to be one of the only gins in the world taking the data out of the cotton picker, and tracing the module through to the finished bale.  Tours available Monday - Friday at 10am. Narrandera Visitor Information Centre hosted our Visitor Servicing Team for a regional famil this month. Narrandera is an ideal day trip from Griffith. Their itinerary included koala spotting, Sandhills Artefacts, lunch at local cafe Pretty Little Lattes, Narrandera Fisheries and a farm tour. The Visit Griffith Team thoroughly enjoyed their day in neighbouring Naranderra.

Visit Griffith Tourism Manager Mirella and Visitor Information Centre Coordinator Vicki, are at the Local Government NSW Destination & Visitor Economy Conference. This engaging three-day event in Port Macquarie, aims to embrace not just tourism, but also a wider aspect of economic development relevant to all NSW councils.

This time five years ago, seven master sculptors from across the globe gathered in Griffith to create beautiful granite stone sculptures to celebrate our Centenary. A lasting legacy to the City of Griffith, and an acknowledgement to the importance of water to the region. The seven sculptures' permanent home is under the willow trees, along the canal in IOOF Park.

Olives are harvested in May and June each year, ready to be brined for table olives or pressed into olive oil. Varieties such as Fantoio, Correggiola and Mananillo can be found growing in the Griffith region, as the Mediterranean-style climate or long hot summers and cold winters, provides the perfect growing conditions
