Welcome to Lakeshore PAWS' newsletter for September 2019.
Dear friends-

Can you believe we have completed 4,500 adoptions in less than 9 years? That’s 4,500 saved lives and 4,500 happy families and/or individuals.

It never ceases to amaze me how our small and yet dedicated team of staff and volunteers have created such a tremendous impact in the community. The most incredible part of our operation is how seamlessly everyone works together. Every volunteer contributes something different to the center to ensure that every task, no matter how big or small, gets done. Some clean and do laundry, some help out at events, some walk and play with the dogs, some foster, and of course, I don’t know where we would be without our much-appreciated poop scooping crew!

Thanks to all of these wonderful volunteers, we’re currently on track to save another 800 dogs in 2019. But the last four months of the year are usually the hardest. With the holidays around the corner, we receive numerous calls a day from overcrowded shelters and owners wanting to surrender their pets. The need to step in and save these dogs has never been greater.

If you are volunteering with us and contributing to our cause, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you are not yet a volunteer, please get involved. Whether you decide to volunteer with Lakeshore PAWS or at your local animal shelter, now is the time to take action.

Finally, if you are unable to volunteer at our center but would like to participate in some of our fun upcoming events, then the Wine, Beer, And Spirits Tasting Event sponsored by Trail Inn Liquors will be perfect for you!
It’ll be an exciting evening of drinks, appetizers, and a silent and live auction. The best part of all is that a big portion of the proceeds will be going towards Lakeshore PAWS.
Trust me when I say this party is worth every penny. It will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday Oct. 19 at the Old Town Banquet Center in Valparaiso.  You can get tickets at Trail Inn Liquors, Century 21 Alliance Group, Lakeshore PAWS or sign up on Eventbrite.  We hope to see you there!

As always, thank you for all that you do. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish over the next four months with your amazing support.

Making a one-time donation to Lakeshore PAWS is a great way to help us save the lives of more dogs. But setting up a recurring monthly donation helps out even more because we can grow our rescue efforts based on the anticipated funding. The following link will allow you to set up a recurring donation through PayPal with the funds drawn out of the account of your choice. Thanks from us and the dogs for considering making a recurring donation. Donate here.

Volunteers of the month

Big thanks to the Drang/Schoenling families. This group can be found many days of the week at the adoption center walking dogs, introducing dogs to potential adopters and helping out in so many other ways. Your efforts are appreciated not only by us, but more importantly, by the dogs. Hope to continue seeing lots of you!

Dog of the month!

Sweet bonded pair seek active loving home!

Hi, my name is Dixon (Chihuahua Mix) and this is my best friend Jaxon (Puggle Mix) I'm a 5 year old Chihuahua Mix and Jaxon is a 6 year old Puggle Mix. We are both neutered and up to date on our shots, and of course microchipped! Our previous home was destroyed during Hurricane Harvey, but my family had to stay there because we didn't have flood insurance. Our family was finally offered FEMA housing, but our family couldn't take us with. We were put in a foster home and then Lakeshore Paws promised to help us find our forever home. We both do great with other friendly dogs and with other kids too. We are so happy we will find a home together because we are the very best of friends. We can't wait to meet you!
