What's on in August?
A lot is happening in August. A bunch of festivals are taking place, and some of them organize special events for kids. See especially the Mela Festival, the Oslo Jazz Festival and the Øyafestivalen. On the page Summer in Oslo with kids
you'll find information on what's going on in Oslo this month.
The summer has been great so far, and the water temperatures have been much nicer than previous years. Read more here
on child-friendly "beaches" around Oslo and which sunscreens you should absolutely avoid for your kids. And don't forget that there are nice opportunities for canoeing
and even fishing with kids around Oslo!
Around mid August, most of the Open Day Cares
reopen, and toward the end of the month Baby Song
starts again most places.
I've also added a new section on playgrounds
in Oslo. On this page you'll find an overview of the public playgrounds in the city, as well as alternatives to these - such as playing in the 'barnehage' outside opening hours, children's parks, and open day cares.
No new cafes have been added. However I did add a little overview of some cafes
that open really early, just in case you have a little morning bird at home...
Traveling in August?
Don't forget the travel pages - practical tips
on what you need to pack and what to do in Gardermoen, and then the page with tips on activities and child-friendly cafes in other cities
around the world. God tur!
Whatever you're doing, I wish you a great month of August!
