October E-Blast

This is a thank you to those of you who incurred our electronic glitches while trying to register for our Infancy Matters workshop, October 24 and 25.  Please note that the glitches have been worked out and as a return, we have extended our Early Bird deadline to this Friday, Oct 14.  Please register at this link:  https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/infancy-matters-securing-pathways-for-well-being-and-resilience-tickets-27961581844

Dr.  Mary Claire Heffron, who is presenting at Infancy Matters, has graciously offered her services on Sunday, Oct 23 from 6-8pm for a free night for parents and caregivers of fussy babies (past and current).  It will be held at the SSCY building, 1155 Notre Dame, with free parking.  Doors will close at 6:15, and please email attachmentnetwork@shaw.ca if you are interested in coming.
We have a number of attachment related trainings in and around Winnipeg such as ones put on by Leah Beaupre, who has trained with Bruce Perry, and one from the good folks at Alloway Therapy (Patti Sutherland and Monique Gougeon) entitled 3R’s- Relationship, Relationship, Relationship.  Please continue to check out our Events page at www.attachmentnetwork.ca/events/
Our brochures continue to be available for purchase from our website, and hopefully we will have these formatted to posters by the end of October, and also available for purchase.  These would make fabulous additions to waiting rooms and halls at agencies, doctor offices, schools, etc.  We are also preparing to translate our brochures into French, Tagalog, and some Indigenous languages in the coming year.
Our next general meeting is Tuesday, Feb 7 from 11:30-1:30 at Adoption Options (back door) 1313 Portage Ave.  If you have something you would like to present at our meetings, please contact us as we are always interested in people who can provide a mini learning opportunity, or discuss how their work is utilizing the attachment perspective.
Mark Your Calendars for March 6, 7, and 8 as we will be hosting the first time Manitoba has offered Connect training.  Connect is a group for parents, or foster parents, of older children, and comes out of the good work of Dr. Marlene Moretti  from Simon Fraser University.  It is strongly evidence based, with one follow up study showing it is one of the only parenting programs where participants stayed true to the model 2 years after.  The 3 day training ($625) plus subsequent supervision during your first group ($1250) should permit the ability to then offer this program.  Day one (March 6) is open to anyone ($225) and is wonderful for funders or supervisors of trainees to attend to get a stronger sense of the program.
