Welcome to 2014 . . .

2013 was a great year for us. We successfully launched and hosted Every Woman Inspired in Kingston, Jamaica in collaboration with One Step Forward Consultancy.

We felt, saw and experienced the magic of women sharing thoughts, debating, dreaming and some of those dreams became close enough to touch. A dream realised was that of a senior social worker who is publicity shy but decided to set up her; The Widow Warrior Blog.

Her debut blog introduces you to her younger self, giving you an insight into her dreams and hopes and her greatest loss of being made a widow at such a young age. She was left with three children to raise alone and at the same time she lost a lot of friends and family because no one wanted to be burdened with her or her children.

We successfully launched Protect The Girl Child Campaign (PGC) to raise funds and awareness of sexual and domestic abuse against women and girls globally. Since then we have been inundated with information from womenâ€™s and human rights groups worldwide, sharing their own missions and highlighting sub-human and sexual exploit of women and children, including boy children.

We took part in the Innocence Revolution, a global movement to highlight the atrocities of child abuse and we were a part of V Days 1 Billion Woman Rising Movement, led by the author and activist Eve Ensler.

We strengthened our links internationally with ICAS, an organisation based in Jamaica whose ethos mirrors our own in protecting our children. We donated books, toys, equipments, clothes and toiletries to the childrenâ€™s home.

RAFFA and the Victoria Climbie Foundation came on board to assist in raising the funds to establish a creative centre in rural Jamaica for low income women and girls to benefit.

The Gateway to Heaven Poets, Coordinated by WIN had a successful show at the Chelsea Theatre with our play, Stories From Between, which traces the sexual evolution of the black woman using poetry, prose, narratives and songs. It was amazing and we are looking to repeat another show this year.

2013 was a great year for our Campaign, but itâ€™s not over yet! Thank you for all youâ€™ve done to make the world a better place for girls and women everywhere. But we know there is still much work to be done. Around the world, girls and women are still experiencing less pay, more violence and constant threats to their basic human rights.
This year 2014 we are starting Sponsor A Girl Child under PGC and hope you can assist us in helping young Caribbean girls complete their education.

Just Â£3 a month from twenty committed people for a period of 6 months is all we are asking. We have so far confirmed (4) people who have pledged to put back into their community via our initiative. Please consider us as part of your charitable donations for this year and spare what you can for this worthwhile initiative.

Calling Women Who Write

As the flowers need the rain and humans need air, a writer needs to write. So come and join us as we write our way through the short, dark days of winter into the long lighter days of spring and the promise of summer.

JustWrite Creative Writing Workshops begins its winter term at the Ankh Wellness Centre in West London on Tuesday January 28th from 6-8pm. Women are given the creative tools to write poems, short stories, essays or novels and are encouraged to express themselves in new and unexplored ways. Small classes ensure that the women get individual attention to develop their writing. (term times only) Â£10.00

Being a womenâ€™s led enterprise, WIN is passionate about sourcing inspiring women globally, and we would like to recommend you to check out the 2inspire Network Spotlight Interviews.
