Save the date!

To mark International Day of the Girl Child on Friday 11th October, Greater Manchester Girls Rights Youth Work network are planning an event to support practitioners and volunteers who work with girls and young women.
It will be an opportunity to network with others doing girls work across the city/region and to think about different ways of engaging with girls and upholding their rights within youth work. There will be a mixture of discussion groups, workshops and talks on offer, and the organisers hope it will seed a more active network of practitioners who can share opportunities, events and skills across different groups and venues.
The agenda is still being pulled together, but there will be lunch!
Save the date for now - full details will appear in the October newsletter and on the Feminist Webs Facebook page as soon as they're ready.

'Gender Labels' by young women from RECLAIM Rochdale

The group talk about expectations for girls and women in society from behaviours to clothing, and how they feel about these preconceptions, labels and expectations. This was one of several videos made at She Can Skate MCR as part of the RECLAIM group's Community Reporter training.
Peterloo 2019 animation
Another brilliant video from RECLAIM, this time their Salford Girls project, telling the story of the Peterloo massacre and linking it to present day struggles. It might inspire any potential young climate strikers in your group who are thinking of taking to the streets on 20th September!
