Sexuality aGender Toolkit

From September 2020, schools will be required to provide inclusive Relationships and Sex Education. The Proud Trust has developed a new version of its pioneering inclusive sexual health toolkit, Sexuality aGender v2, to enablie positive conversations around identity, sexuality, sex and sexual health for all young people (aged 13 and above). It is a valuable resource for youth workers as well as teachers.
They are also offerering training: for £49 +VAT, instead of the usual price of £140 +VAT, you will receive a full day of training and the toolkit itself to take away.

GMYN’s Introduction to Youth Work training is back!

The Introduction to Youth Work (ItYW) training programme from Greater Manchester Youth Network (GMYN) is a condensed version of a fuller six-session programme designed to develop understanding of youth work and skills relating to practice.
Over two Saturday sessions participants will gain an insight into several different aspects of youth work, covering both theoretical and practical applications in a range of youth work settings.

Session One: Saturday 23rd November, 10am-2pm

Introduction to Youth Work Values
Explore the different definitions of youth work and learn how you can embed the underpinning youth work values into your own practice.
Look at how you can build responsive relationships with young people, including identifying and managing boundaries.
Group Work Skills
Develop an understanding of how to work with groups of young people by examining practical tools and examples.

Session Two: Saturday 30th November, 10am-2pm

A continuation of the session above.
Understanding & Meeting Needs
Explore youth workers’ roles as critical and responsive practitioners by understanding young people’s needs and knowing how to signpost to further support.
Planning, Recording & Monitoring
Gain insight into the importance and relevance of planning, recording and monitoring youth work, gaining tools and methods of applying it effectively.
Measuring Impact
Explore what is meant by evaluation, relative practice and impact, using the example of the Most Significant Change model.

£45 per session, or FREE for Manchester volunteers.
