They are a family of 6. Dad works outside of the home, and mom had an in-house daycare with several children. They have 2 older children that are students at Weinert and 2 younger. They are currently in a hotel for 3 nights total paid for by the Red Cross. They were in a rent to own situation with the home but didn’t have rental insurance. He said they were starting from scratch. They hope to find a new place to live.

THANKOFFERING SUNDAY

Women of the ELCA | St. Peter Lutheran Church

Spirit of Joy WELCA will recognize Thankoffering Sunday on November 20, 2020.  A short homily will be spoken and prayers given at this service.  Thankoffering envelopes will be delivered to all WELCA Circle Attendees and are also available at the church office.  You need not have an envelope to make a donation.  Simply write a check with the WELCA notation at the bottom and send into the church office.  Due to COVID-19, we are all unable to meet collectively but we can recognize this Sunday as very important in the life of our congregation.  WELCA members (all members of the church) do very important work in the name of Christ's ministry and we welcome the opportunity to share this special time.
Thank you.

A Prayer for Putting on a Face Mask

Creator God, as I prepare to go into the world, help me to see the sacramental nature of wearing of this cloth.  Let it be a tangible and visible way of living love for my neighbors, as I love myself.
Christ Jesus, since my lips will be covered, uncover my heart, that people would see my smile in the crinkles around my eyes.  Since my voice may be muffled, help me o speak clearly, not only with my words, but with my actions.
Holy Spirit, as the elastic touches my ears, remind me to listen carefully and caringly to all those I meet.  May this simple piece of cloth be shield and banner, and may each breath that it holds, be filled with Your love.  In your name and in that love, I pray, Amen.

Presbyterian Church of Canada
