2017 Employee of the Year

On January 18, 2018 our very own Sabra Stevens was recognized at the Sunrise Rotary Club as the City of Dahlonega Employee of the Year!

William E. Schmid, City Manager, perfectly puts into words as to why Sabra is so deserving of this title, "Sabra Stevens is the face and voice of City Hall Dahlonega to much of the world. She does an excellent job welcoming and assisting citizens who visit or call and cheerfully and ably helps with every form of local government question. Sabra is always pleasant, even with those who are not particularly kind to her. She bears the brunt of much unjust criticism without ever complaining. She is simultaneously professional, personable, knowledgeable, capable, thorough, tactful, patient and compassionate. Her quiet demeanor is both an example and an encouragement to those who work with her. It is my pleasure to commend to you the 2017 Dahlonega Employee of the Year, Sabra Stevens."

Congratulations to Sabra, thank you for all you do!

Streetscape Project Update

The Streetscape Project is progressing on schedule. This week the crews will finish replacing the sidewalks in front of Chestatee Village with brick. The extension of the center turn lane from the traffic light at Morrison Moore Parkway and South Chestatee Street is underway. Curb & gutter, and sidewalk work on South Chestatee Street will continue as weather permits.

There will also be work on East Main Street by the Dahlonega Fudge Factory as drainage pipe is replaced below the sidewalks.

Thank you for your continued understanding as these improvements are made to our city! Please feel free to contact City Hall at 706-482-2700 with questions.
