Streetscape Project Update

The Streetscape Project is slowing down, and finishing touches are taking place. With final details being wrapped up, additional signage and lane delineation markings are expected to take place in the near future. In the upcoming week, expect to see more street painting and striping, including work in the handicapped parking areas, loading zones, and around raised crosswalks.

The “Mighty Three”, Biker Mike, Don Wilson, and Melanie Sinclair, continue with beautification efforts throughout Downtown. Thanks to this trio, Downtown Dahlonega is blossoming gorgeously. In addition, electrical contractors will be working around the Square as we continue our commitment to providing a reliable power source for ground and tree lighting.

Thank you for your continued understanding as the City will continue its efforts to improve the overall look, feel, and functionality of our streets and sidewalks. Please feel free to contact City Hall with any questions.

Extraordinary Service Award

This month’s Extraordinary Service Award goes to Danielle Bell! Kick starting her career with the City as an intern in 2016, over time Danielle diligently worked her way up to Project Coordinator for the Dahlonega Downtown Development Authority & Main Street Program. Ever since she became a part of the DDA, she has contributed tremendously to the growth of Dahlonega. Her dedication and creativity shine in every event she has organized, every social media blast, and everything in between. She has always strived to develop Dahlonega into the best version of itself it can possibly be.

Danielle’s chapter with the City of Dahlonega is coming to a close as she resigns and embarks upon new adventures. Dahlonega is one lucky town to have had Danielle for the past two years, and we can all agree that Dahlonega will continue to flourish due to her impactful time here. While she will be missed dearly by everyone, we wish her the best of luck on all of her future endeavors!
