WILDWOOD FLOWER, by Jennie Berman Eng
Franny and John have just had baby Maybel, and everything suddenly has changed between them. Franny feels lonely and isolated as a new, stay-at-home Mom, and John resents having to be the sole earner in the family. Franny meets Daniel, whose wife recently miscarried. They find comfort and friendship with one another, and soon their relationship becomes murky. They start to imagine what life would be like if they were a family raising Maybel. Can Franny leave John, the one she really loves, for an easier life? Wildwood Flower is about a woman’s struggle to find herself as a mother, and how easily a happy marriage can end up on the brink.

Sampson, the angelic spirit in charge of the Imaginary Friend Network, explains the rules of imaginary friending to a reluctant Jack, who finds the task slightly more daunting than he expected.
