MuseScore newsletter #1

Hello !

We are very happy to send you our first MuseScore newsletter. We have been silently working for five years now and think it is time to engage more regularly with our users. So, on occasion, we will be sending you the latest on MuseScore.

We hope you’ll find it informative and fulfilling of your sheet music needs - enjoy!

Musically yours,

In this issue:

MuseScore 1.3 is available for download

For the past year, we have been continuing to work hard on MuseScore 2.0. MuseScore 1.2 was intended to be our last 1.x release, but "only fools don't change their minds" (French proverb). In anticipation of the first beta release of MuseScore 2.0, we wanted to fix a few major issues in version 1.2, and so we are happy to present MuseScore 1.3.

MuseScore.com - Sharing your sheet music

We appreciate the many and busy users of MuseScore, but we wondered:
  • What do you do with your sheet music once finished?
  • Do you share them with your friends, fellow students or band mates?
  • Would you like to know what other MuseScore users think of your scores?
One of the reasons we built MuseScore.com was to help you share your scores online, receive comments and collect statistics on them. We also created videoscores, which let you sync your sheet music with YouTube videos.

Why MuseScore.com?
You can find the answer on our blog. Read the post of Thomas Bonte, CEO and MuseScore co-founder, Why we made MuseScore.com.

MuseScore goes mobile

With everyone increasingly turning to mobile devices, we want to give your scores a mobile life as well. Last year, we launched our first mobile applications - including the MuseScore Player for Android and the Open Goldberg Variations for iPad, which was greatly received. We are continuing to work hard on bringing out the MuseScore Player to iPhone and iPad as well. Stay tuned.
