Homicide in the 1600 block of Forest Trail

Location:    1625 Forest Trail       

 

Deceased Victim: Jaclyn Christine Parrish, W/F, born 01/28/1980      

 

Deceased Suspect: Michael Brett Moore, W/M, born 08/30/1981


On Friday, April 29, 2022, at approximately 1:39 P.M., Austin Police Department (APD officers) responded to a welfare check at 1625 Forest Trail. Upon arrival, APD officers entered the residence and discovered two individuals with apparent trauma to their bodies. Both individuals were pronounced deceased at 2:27 P.M. by Dr. Escott.  

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene. Homicide detectives are investigating this incident as a murder/suicide. Continual dating violence between the couple appears to be the motive.                

On 04/30/2022, the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted autopsies and determined the official manner of death for Jaclyn Parrish was gunshot wounds, and the cause of death was a homicide. The official manner of death for Michael Moore was a gunshot wound, and the manner of death was suicide.
