Thanks for Joining Us at Celebrating Sustainability!

Last Thursday's Celebrating Sustainability Festival welcomed over 1,000 attendees and 35 partners to the Science and Engineering Quad. Attendees enjoyed delicious local food courtesy of Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE), live musical performances by Talisman and Camp Youth, and presentation of the inaugural Sustainable Stanford Awards. Thanks to all those who came out, and hope to see you next year! View event photos.
Gearing Up for Give & Go: Donate Unwanted Items to Those in Need

Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE)'s Give & Go campaign makes moving off campus fast, easy, and sustainable. Drop any unwanted items (clothing, bikes, electronic equipment, and household items in good condition) between June 8-20 at one of 100+ convenient barrels scattered throughout student residences. Items will be donated to Goodwill of Silicon Valley to support community members in need, while reducing the amount of move-out waste sent to landfills. Pledge to participate for your chance to win one of several $50 gift cards! Learn More
Thanks for Volunteering Your Time on Earth Day!

About 40 volunteers showed up for two sunny Earth Week Service Days last Friday-Saturday. Volunteers helped with weeding and native plant restoration in the historic Arizona Garden and Stanford foothills. Thanks to all who participated for helping with conservation efforts! View photos.
EPA Recognizes Stanford as Top Green Power User among Pac-12 Conference Schools

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has recognized Stanford as an Individual Conference Champion of the 2016-17 College & University Green Power Challenge, for using more green power than any other school in the Pac-12 Conference. Stanford beat conference rivals by using more than 154 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green power, representing 53% of the school’s annual electricity usage. Because a quarter of remaining electricity procured from California's grid is also renewable, 65% of Stanford's total electricity supply comes from renewable sources. Read more.
