PAL Marches on!
Ok, just a little attempt at humor which is so easily lost in this war with addiction. We've learned through PAL that in this paradox filled world, if we can find joy in our lives regardless of our loved one's choices, it may just bring hope to their lives as well. So what is happening as this new year is underway. First new meetings and growth.
A new meeting just started in another state as we expanded into Henderson Nevada! We are so thankful for the continued growth as we also added meetings in Tucson AZ, Kentucky and Indiana.
We hope you have seen our new website and are enjoying it. We worked hard to make it as user friendly as possible and to consolidate our information. Check it out. pal group.org. One new feature is a map of the United States to find our meetings. Soon we will have to break it down even further as PAL grows.
We have been busy working on our training for new Faciltiators. We were able to spend a day video taping lesson information, with tips and tricks, and even a simulated meeting for people that are out of state and have never been to a meeting. We will make this training available online so that they can get meetings up and running even quicker as the need continues to grow.
Our Facebook page is a wealth of good information. Be sure to check it out and like us - we are almost at 500 likes! You will find many of the latest trends and information that affects PAL and all those dealing with loved ones battling addiction.
Please remember to check the meeting updates on our website for guest speakers and special events. You willl find this under "Meeting updates" one of the tabs across the top of the website (click here)
We want to welcome Jerry Pena to our Board of Directors. Jerry is a local businessman in the Phoenix area and brings a strong sense of business and corporate knowledge to our board. He and his wife Paula are also facilitators for the Surprise AZ meeting in the west valley that meets on Wednesday nights at 7PM.
As PAL grows we are trying to be as fiscally conservative as we can but our expenses are real. Our start-up kits and costs for a new meeting are approximately $250. All of our board and those that help are volunteers. We appreciate those of you who have become monthly contributors which is easy to do on our donation site. Please consider joining us by signing up for a monthly gift of $25 or $50 or more, or one time gifts, as we work to spread PAL and the hope that parents receive form one another. Donate Here. Another way you can give (and it costs you nothing!) is to sign up for Frys Foods Community program and or Amazon Smile. They donate to us every time you shop, and in particular the Frys program is very generous. Click here for the instructions.
We know that we are blessed to have your on-going support.
