Dr. Zeinin Haji Christmas Greeting 2017

Dr. Zeinin shares her thoughts...

There are a plethora of events, functions, interactions and obligations this time of year. Tackle them with ease, love and most importantly your self needs in mind!

This time of year brings with it a number of emotions. What are you feeling today? Why are you feeling this way? Are you happy with your life? What changes might you begin to make today?

Every day begins with many thoughts and ends with many more. Are you satisfied with YOUR LIFE? Spend some time thinking and observing.

The journey begins with you and ends with you. I think I've realized more than ever that taking personal accountability is very difficult.  If you actually have to admit that you've done something that doesn't satisfy your greatest purpose, you'll need to think about making a change. Instead, it's so much easier to blame and point fingers. We tend to do this very unintentionally as media, tv, friends and family are support centres that provide nurture to our immediate needs, and at times, allow the causal nature of our troubles to go unaddressed. This is great for the short term, but extremely limiting for personal growth.  We all attract what we need most, at the moment we are in.

Living the BEST life possible is your birth right. What you attract to your life is a true reflection of all the things that you believe in, surround yourself with, listen to, are a part of and are internally manifesting. So many lessons to be learned. Each one you don't learn is amplified until you recognize and see the value of the lesson, the moral of the lesson and how it can and will improve your life. The thought of that can be overwhelming for many and for others it's an amazing journey towards self mastery and enlightenment. That likely means different things to different people. There are no wrongs or rights, just journey points in your life. I'll share my meaning.

I LOVE being a chiropractor. So many different hats I wear in my day as a chiropractor. The underlying premise for me though is SERVICE. My ability to serve the population on their journey in health, well being and personal growth. The journey is different for each person and I learn and listen with the hope that people grasp some glimpse of their perfect soul self and grow. Of course, health is the underlying tone at our Clinic but the complexity of an individual goes far beyond an adjustment. There are reasons for why we feel and experience things, and there is a mind-body-spirit connection that many ignore.

I see value in listening. I see value in evaluating and analyzing. I trust that the universe is always looking out for me.  It is my best interest that navigates me through this human life experience. I want the BEST LIFE POSSIBLE. I want that for you too!  I promote self worth, asking questions, talking through problems, verbalizing all the junk in your head and heart. These tasks require time and perseverance. You need to get to know yourself and that is difficult at times when you take a true look in the mirror. Reach out to the health and wellness providers that can help you achieve the best version of you. Mastery requires practice and an understanding of self. Practice self mastery techniques and learn from those you admire, and respect   Role models and mentors provide example... remember though... they are in their own state of growth and mastery. Create the life that you truly want for yourself. The beautiful thing that I've learned is some people want to give you their opinion when they know nothing about your journey. People are quick to judge. We are all guilty of judgement. Until you take a good long hard look at yourself don't assume, make judgement, listen to hearsay, or allow opinions to make decisions that aren't yours. Do not live in the lives of others unless you can delve into the inner workings of that person for every aspect of your opinion or judgement. This is very difficult as we all want to provide insight and opinion when asked. Understand the whole picture and navigate others to seek support that allows them to learn more about themselves. There are experts in many fields so research what best suits your needs for the lessons you're currently experiencing and working through.

As much as I put positivity and enthusiasm into my life's work, I have also been concentrating heavily on the presence of BALANCE. How possibly can you be your best if you focus too heavily and specifically on the pursuit of only one thing? Physical health, mental health, spiritual health, work environment, school, friends, social media, family commitments, money stresses, elderly parent care and relationships are all part of our lives. How do we possibly find balance in all these aspects? This is the life goal--deriving a balance with all these different aspects of your life! I will always emphasize that a properly functioning nervous system is the epitome of importance to this balance! At times, I feel chiropractic is underrated for its value in the big picture of life. With proper balance and neurological flow, our bodies have the best possible opportunity to thrive!! It's not the only avenue, hence all the other amazing providers that help achieve your goal!! We all work together for your greatest potential to be unleashed!! Expect nothing but the BEST for yourself. Many things may happen in life that we do not understand and understanding why we are experiencing them is not obvious in the short term. The truth is that if we delve into the innards of our being the answers present themselves. It's easy to ignore and you can sustain that ignorance for some time. At some point, your body-mind-spirit tell you that it's time to pay attention. This happens in many ways- fatigue, lack of concentration, lack of zest for life and no ambition to do anything. Clearly, something is up. If you don't wake up every morning jumping out of your bed to get to work, ask yourself why you are doing it. There must be a valid reason for your choices. Whether you like to admit it or not though... you do have a choice and if your choice is to attend work every morning do it with ambition, pride, desire, excitement and purpose!! Whatever you're doing now may lead you to your next step, your next opportunity and your next adventure so purposefully give it all that you've got.

I've given you much to think about. Although not easy, spending time on self growth can be very stimulating and fulfilling. Give yourself permission to seek BALANCE. Help yourself with the experts around you to get answers that are best suited for you. Have an understanding that it all takes time and practice. New changes in the way you conduct yourself can take time because it's a whole new outlook and perspective. Give yourself TIME.

Take time to enjoy all the intangibles in life- your family and loved ones will always be your greatest cheerleaders and support. Value your relationships and put time, energy and effort into each of them.

You deserve nothing but the BEST! Seek it out, learn and have gratitude and humility in all your interactions!!

I thank you all for choosing Lambeth Chiropractic Clinic & Wellness Centre as your primary resource centre for all your health care needs. We are here to listen, guide and serve you any way that we can to help you on your personal health quest!

Integrated Energy Therapist Veronica Tugwood and Sara Farrell, Certified Reflexologist and Reiki Practitioner share their perspective on a situation that they often hear from clients:

Oh My! I Fell Asleep! – A practitioner's perspective on consciousness during energy work sessions.
In any energy session, your practitioner's goal is to ensure that you are comfortable, warm and ready to relax.   Often, quiet relaxing music may be added to enhance the atmosphere.  The stage has been set for you to enjoy the deepest relaxation possible.
During your session you may be encouraged to focus on your breath, allowing for a more relaxed breathing style.  You will notice that your body begins to feel weightless as your muscles relax.  You may feel your thoughts drifting into a kaleidoscope of colours, shapes, sounds or feelings.   The soothing tones of your practitioner's voice slide over you, yet your awareness remains intact, as your brain continues to receive information.  As you move into this hypnogogic state, intense relaxation may include different breathing patterns.  This may be perceived by the client as a snore, however, is understood by the practitioner as surrendering to the session.
Hypnagogia:  A beautiful "trippy", limbo-like state of being that occurs at that transitional moment between wakefulness and sleep. This relaxed state of consciousness can involve a heightened sensory experience.
It is an honour for the practitioner to witness a client achieving this restorative, hypnogogic state during a session-especially considering that it is such a vulnerable and trusting state of being.   This calm and tranquil state allows for the energy to effectively create the changes a client is seeking.   As a practitioner, the client's hypnogogic state can encourage a deeper energetic connection both to source energy as well as the client's personal energy field.  This state of being offers the best of both worlds, it is the most beneficial for the client as our bodies achieve optimal healing while relaxed, allowing for deeper release of stress, tension and worries of life.  Ego boundaries are relinquished, intuition is increased, creativity and openness are at their peak, with a heightened willingness to integrate new ideas.  This state of extreme relaxation supports balance, which generates a sense of peace and supports healing at the cellular level. Optimal relaxation is achieved while remaining conscious enough to have partial awareness.  In this state, the energy work done and any information shared by the practitioner is integrated into the mind and will be available when it is the most advantageous.
So the next time you are enjoying an energy therapy session, plan for and enjoy a restful, healing and hypnogogic experience!

1 red bell pepper
1-2 cups butternut squash, peeled and cubed
1 regular sweet potato, peeled and cubed
2 small carrots, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped finely or minced
2 small tomatoes, chopped
1 cup red lentils
6 cups vegetable/chicken broth
1 bunch spinach, washed and chopped
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
¼ tsp thyme, ground
1 ½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
Optional: red pepper flakes for more spice, to taste

- Heat the oil in a stockpot over medium heat. Add the onion, bell pepper, squash, carrots, and garlic; sauté until tender, stirring frequently. Add the tomato, lentils, and broth. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for about 45 minutes, or until the lentils are soft.
