International Debuts ! Line-Up ! Acoustic !
Hi *|FNAME|*,

What Ho ! Celebr8ers !

With just 20ish days to go before the UK's Greatest Prog Rock Festival returns for an historic second run, we thought we'd drop you a line to say "Hello !" and bring you right up to date with the latest.
At Celebr8 we strive to go one step further to bring you the very best bands, and we have no less than 3 International acts making their debuts on UK soil at this years festival.
From Chicago, USA, the outstanding District97, the ONLY (we feel sure of this) progressive rock band to feature an American Idol Top 10 Female Finalist. But fear not, that is most definitely NOT what District97 bring to the party. They are one of the most innovative bands around at the moment and have really hit home with their second album, Trouble With Machines. Feted by no less a prog legend than John Wetton, Celebr8.2 is proud to present them at their UK debut. District 97 drummer Jonathan Schang had this to say about playing Celebr8,

'The music that came out of England in the 60s and 70s was my primary inspiration for becoming a musician in the first place. It has always been a longheld dream of mine to both visit and perform where all of that wonderful music came from and being invited to play Celebr8 with such like minded artists at last gives me that opportunity'.
From Montreal, Canada, come Mystery, a band with a massive following outside the UK. They feature in their ranks Benoit David who you will all no doubt recognise as the lead vocalist with Yes for their triumphant comeback CD release last year, Fly From Here. Following his departure fromYes, David teamed up again with Michel St Père to record and release Mystery's brilliant The World Is A Game. Mystery's epic, sweeping prog is guaranteed to send shivers up the spine, and we present them for their UK debut on Sunday 12 May. Michel St Père has sent this special message to the bands UK fans.

'On behalf of Benoit, myself and the Mystery live band, I want to tell you that we are all very happy and excited to be playing our first ever UK show at Celebr8 2.0. The World is a Game is going extremely well in the UK and it is an honour for us to finally be able to play our fans.'
From Spain, we are beyond excited to present the UK debut of Harvest (now THERE'S a name to gladden the hearts of prog followers everywhere). This band have been checked and approved by some of the UK's most respected bands, most notably of course, Marillion who have featured Harvest several times over the last few years during their EU based Marillion Conventions. And Celebr8.2 is the place to see them make their UK debut performance.

Of course, UK debuts and exclusive gigs aren't all that's happening at Celebr8.2. The rest of the bill is equally amazing !

Kicking off proceedings on Saturday are IO Earth (hot off their storming performance on Cruise to the Edge, the Yes Prog Cruise).

After the aforementioned District 97, we feature a CELEBR8.2 EXCLUSIVE namely Frost*s ONLY gig of 2013.

Saturday is headlined by THRESHOLD with their unique brand of heavy prog riffs and soaring dynamics. Fronted by Damien Wilson, one of the greatest voices in rock or prog and regular vocalist of the year award winner, their set is assured to close day one on an absolute high.

Sunday at Celebr8.2 kicks off with the first ever show by ex Pallas frontman Alan Reed with his all new electric band The Daughters of Expediency.

Next up will be fast rising metal proggers Haken, recently signed to Inside Out and working on their 3rd album.

Then following Mystery are Sunday headliners and festival closers Arena. With a new live DVD Rapture just released, Arena are without doubt a prog super group and a perfect closing act for Celebr8.2.

Spread throughout the 2 days are a shedload of acoustic performances on the festival second stage. Saturday’s acoustic acts are Mark Spencer (Galahad, Twelfth Night & Alan Reed acoustic), who will be a busy boy as the next acoustic act will be Galahad, performing a special take on their most recent material and then an undoubted highlight, a very special acoustic set from Knifeworld

Sunday sees a return to the festival from Matt Stevens, Andy Tillison, a joint set by Matt and Andy, Simon Godfrey (performing songs from his new Shineback album) and finally ex IQ vocalist and solo artist Paul Menel.
