Dig Deep and Release
“Sometimes we have to dig deep, working long and hard to let go, but throughout the coming eclipse season we have a precious opportunity to release, moment by moment, whatever holds us back." - Sarah Varcas

There is a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse coming up tomorrow, Thursday, August 18, 2016. With it we have an invitation to release ourselves from restriction and open to possibility. There is one Nia routine I return to for such powerful cosmic occasions - Alpha Omega (AO). For every ending, there is a new beginning. We are both the initiator and the closer of our experience.

Tomorrow night, I am teaching AO at 6:00pm at Embrace the Moon in Ballard. The music from the album "A Different Space" by Bob Holroyd, will take us on a journey! Together, we will create the intention to release something that has uniquely held us back and then focus on moving the sensation of release through our bodies. It's supposed to be a hot day here in Seattle tomorrow. This will be the perfect gentle yet powerful class to throw something into the fire and wait for it to transform into a lightness of being.

Two exciting bits of news for Sunday Nia!

First, my Nia sister, Janice Steinberg, will be visiting from San Diego, joining us for class and teaching a song! Squeal! Janice is a Brown Belt Nia instructor and brilliant author. When she enters the room, she exudes joy! We are going to have so much fun together :).

Second, I am thrilled to teach another "vintage" Nia routine, Medicine Woman. I chose this routine for this weekend for how it blends so beautifully with ArcanaDance's Dance of the High Priestess, focused on feminine leadership and nurturing our capacity for inner knowing. The focus of Medicine Woman is on the "power of the feminine:" "Medwyn Goodall uses traditional instruments and rhythms to celebrate the power of the Feminine. Through this balance, we can achieve a greater harmony with the expansive, nurturing side of ourselves."
I hope you will join us to experience Medicine Woman this Sunday, August 21.

Finally, I have been so overjoyed and overwhelmed with the testimonials that have been coming in about the Tarot Journaling with ArcanaDance workshop. During this workshop, we will explore a variety of ways the tarot and movement can support, influence and deepen self-reflective journaling. The next session is coming up on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 10:00am - 1:30pm at my home in North Seattle - easily accessible from the 28 bus, I-5, 99, Greenwood Ave and 3rd Ave NW. The deadline for the early bird rate of $75 is midnight on Monday, August 22 and there's still room to join us.
