Our beloved matriarch, abuela Rosa, became our elevated ancestor today at 12:42PM EST. 

She has been reunited with the lineage that passed before her - with her mother, father, sister, brothers, abuelas, abuelos, aunts, uncles, husband, cousins, and more. 

Great-great grandmother, great-grandmother, abuela, and mother, she now takes her place and stands as an angelic regal guardian and guide over our entire family, the four generations of us that remain. 

Abuela spent her last hours in the hospital ER wrestling with pneumonia, Covid, and low oxygen. The medical team took great care of her as did the nursing home where she lived since May 2019. She made her transition the way she wanted to, peaceful, in her sleep, and without medical intervention. A loving medical team was with her the entire time. 

We celebrate her 104 years and 4 months of life. How blessed indeed, we are, to be her family and descendants. 

Classes and client sessions are canceled for the time being. I am leaving for New York to be with my family.

Thank you for holding my family in your hearts, thoughts and prayers. And thank you for the years we danced in celebration of Abuela Rosa together - shaking our hips and dancing with joy in our hearts. When I return we will dance in her honor - just as she would want us to.
