Celebrating the Mother in us all
“Love heals. Heals and liberates. I use the word love, not meaning sentimentality, but a condition so strong that it may be that which holds the stars in their heavenly positions and that which causes the blood to flow orderly in our veins.”
 - Maya Angelou, "Mom & Me & Mom"

Brace yourself - this will actually be a short(er) newsletter <gasp!>! I am so excited to share with you my  grand tales of visiting my family in New York, attending the tarot conference in Queens and doing the Moving to Heal teacher training at Nia headquarters. More on all of these in the next newsletter. The photo to the right was taken at Madison Square Park in New York City during this last visit. The park was decorated with what looked like giant crystal balls. I couldn't help myself.

More importantly, I am back! And so thrilled to be teaching again. Squeal! There are no interruptions to your Nia schedule this month. Double squeal!

Two important class announcements:
Tuesday classes will become a Nia: Moving to Heal class. Moving to Heal is a gentler Nia class designed to stimulate your body to direct its resources toward self-healing and feeling better. This beautiful class format is designed for people seeking ways to feel better in their bodies during illness, injury or in times of tenderness and unease. Enjoy easy-to-follow choreography in a supportive atmosphere of safety and trust. Beginners and Nia regulars are welcome. Bring a yoga mat, if you have one, for the end of class. Class times remains 9:15am - 10:30am.

Saturday classes will continue at 11:00am at The Dance Space in Greenwood through May. Starting on Saturday, June 6, 2015, classes will permanently move to the 9:30am time slot at The Dance Space in Greenwood. Susan Tate and I are doing a switcheroo with class times. I am taking her 9:30am spot and she's taking my 11:00am time slot.

Finally and even more importantly, I want to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a Happy Mother's Day. Whether you mother children, fur-kids, gardens, or souls to well-being, you deserve to be honored for the gift of nurturing you bring to the world. Thank you for your loving presence. My greatest wish is that you are boldly and deeply celebrated - always.

Save the date for the next Embodied Tarot mini-retreat - Saturday, June 13, 2014, 1pm-6pm! It will be held at my home again in North Seattle and I have room for 8-10 participants. Three spots are already taken ;). The focus of the mini-retreat is: "A Tarot Journey with the Empress Card: An Exploration of Mothering Ourselves into Wellness." In the tarot, the Empress represents mothering, creativity, nurturing, sensuality, our capacity for wellness, and our ability to live in a state of abundance. More information to come in the next newsletter, I promise.

Let's all pause for a moment and raise one eyebrow at the brevity (ha!) of this newsletter.
