I am back! Squeal!
"The Hermit offers a gift of much-needed introspection. Solitude can be nurturing in ways we do not expect, giving us time to consider who we are, where we have been, and most of all, where we intend to go next."
- Beth Owl's Daughter

I am thrilled to be back home in Seattle and to resume teaching! Big heart thanks to Shea Marsh for taking such wonderful care of my Nia classes while I was away. Thank you, Shea!

On Sunday morning, I will be introducing one of the new 2016 Nia routines choreographed by Nia co-creatrix, Debbie Rosas. The routine, Grateful, is playful, soulful and dynamic. I love the sonic landscape of the routine and how it invites a beautiful balance of intrinsic and explosive movement. Come play with me this Sunday morning, January 10 at 10:30am at Balance Studio in Fremont. <3

And now for all January offerings including Monday evening Nia in Ballard, ArcanaDance classes and a mini-retreat on Saturday, January 30th that invites us to feel empowered, energized and supported by the practices of solitude and introspection.

About the workshop:

The New Moon is a time to empty what was full and with great intention, plant seeds for the future. January 10th is the very first New Moon of 2016 and it's in the methodical, determined and driven sign of Capricorn. What greater time to plant seeds for the year ahead than during the first month of the year! During this workshop, you will learn about the potential of setting an intention during the New Moon, work with a custom tarot spread, select cards and then we will collectively dance our readings, sealing in your intentions with movement. I will supply everything – the tarot spread, cards for you to use during the workshop, paper, pens, the music and movement prompts. All you need to bring is yourself and the desire to plant seeds for new beginnings in 2016.

During this three week series we will explore the archetype of The Empress and the associated minor arcana cards (3 or Air, 3 of Water, 3 of Fire and 3 of Earth). In the tarot, the Empress card represents the archetype of the mother. The mother is the source of feminine strength, unconditional love, nurturance, nourishment, and creativity. When we explore this archetype, we access the ability to heal and become the vital source of our own self-care and nourishment of mind, body, heart and spirit.

In the tarot, the Hermit card represents the archetype of the inner sage. The beginning of the year is a wonderful time for the reflection, introspection and soulful inquiry that the Hermit invites. Often we need to go inward to reflect before setting our course for the year ahead. Join me for this safe and sacred mini-retreat where we will journey to our inner sage and alchemize the wisdom of our life lessons into pearls for spiritual growth and personal development for the year ahead. We will then go on a movement odyssey, collaboratively choreographing a dance that honors and celebrates the wise one within.

See you on January 10! :)!
With love, warmth and light,
Jennifer
