Love at the highest octave
"Love keeps our feet to the fire, motivates us to work through difficulties, and teaches us to tolerate the most sensitive and raw places in our psyche.
Love melts our resistance and eliminates boundaries.
It peels away the psychological skin that separates us from others."
- Jasmin Lee Cori and Willow Arlea, The Tarot of Transformation

This month, all of my classes have focused on the healing and transformative power of the love. We've been exploring this transformative potential in both Nia and ArcanaDance, through movement of the chest, ribcage, torso, eyes and hands.

We move the chest and ribcage to create spaciousness for the heart to expand and contract.  We move the torso to demonstrate flexibility and mobility in love - bending, undulating, yielding, and surrendering. We move the eyes in an effort to express the truth of our love without the barrier of words, a cognitive function. We use our hands to express emotion through gestures of excitement, anger, connection, affection, comfort and support.

The human heart is remarkable. The size of a fist, this little organ keeps us pulsing with life, no matter what we do it or what we experience - from heartbreak to elation - it keeps pumping and exuding energy. This highly intelligent sensory organ generates a more powerful electromagnetic field, 60 times greater, than the human brain. That essentially means that love has the power to heal.

All of this heart-supporting movement is part of The Lovers archetype experience. There is still time to join me for a special two-hour ArcanaDance workshop this Saturday, February 27, 2017 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at Embrace the Moon in Ballard. Together we will learn more about the archetype of love, choose cards that move us deeper into connection with the energy of love, and then we will dance - moving our chest, ribcage, eyes and hands to circulate the energy of love through our body, mind, heart and spirit. My desire, via this workshop, is for you to have an experience of the healing and transformative power of self-love.

After the last ArcanaDance series session on Sunday, February 27th, ArcanaDance will be on break until April. So please do come join me on Saturday, February 26th for the special workshop or Sunday, February 27th at 9:00am for the last series session before I take time in March to travel for conferences and soul-restoring sisterhood time at the Gaian Soul Retreat on Whidbey Island.

Nia classes will continue! I will have subs when I am away (March 6, 17 and 20). And yes, I am teaching on Easter Sunday :)!

On February 27 we explore a path to healing through the tarot card of The Lovers, the archetype of love. More than an archetype of romantic love, the Lovers is about how we grow through the mirror of relationship, with ourselves and with others. It’s also about the choices we make to follow the call of our heart’s desire. This archetype is a rich exploration of passion, partnership, choice and saying yes to the power of love. Using questions asked through the voice of the archetype of love, we will pick cards that bring tarot wisdom to life through our bodies. Enjoy the transformative experience of sensing your cards come to life through your unique dance. The movement will be guided and paired with tarot-inspired music. No tarot or dance experience required. All are welcome. Tarot decks will be provided for use during the workshop but feel free to bring your own deck if you have one.
