 I’ve done it again, I’ve over-committed. In my enthusiasm, I said yes and initiated too many projects, research, and clients at one time.   At the same time I’m trying to catch up after a couple of weeks away from work commitments to get married.  I mention this because my time away from work, while exciting, fun, and joyful, was also stressful.  Really good stress, but our bodies don’t exactly know the difference, right?            

I’ve been thinking about stress quite a bit lately.  Particularly the effects of stress on our health over a lifetime.  Our lives are full of potential stressors, so many it’s often hard to identify them or to even be aware of them when they’re happening.  We understand the health impact of chronic stress and can see the effects in our clients in a myriad of ways.  One of my clients recently had a recurrence of breast cancer after the deaths of 2 immediate family members.  Another has a very stressful job and is constantly dealing with immune issues.  Many of us have had prolonged periods of high stress in our histories and have a difficult time both physically and emotionally for years afterward.  
Fortunately, there are many things we can do for our clients from a nutritional standpoint, but sometimes we need more.  Managing stress can be a full time job for some!
