Trafficking Hotlines

If you suspect someone is a victim of human trafficking, call
National Human Trafficking Resource Hotline
1-888-3737-888
or the
Yakima Crime Victims Service Center
1-866-523-6468
Both of these hotlines operate 24/7 hours!

Thank you for attending the Illusions and Deceptions Training!
We're so pleased that you were able to attend the training and hope that you found it to be a useful tool for working with the kids in your organization.

I wanted to share a few resources with you:

  • Corrected version of "10 Things Men and Boys can do to Stop Human Trafficking!" Thanks to Virginia for proofreading it further ;) Download
  • Watch the Defenders "End Demand" video. It has a powerful 1 1/2 minute message challenging men to end demand!
  • Watch Sunnyside's Promise's video "Their Story" which tells the story of a girl who was trafficked in a local gang and a former gang pimp. Zonta was involved in fundraising to help complete the production of this video.
Find LOTS more resources on the DMST page on the Zonta website.

White Ribbon Campaign
Starting this Sunday, Oct 28th, the White Ribbon Campaign is featuring a number of online educational events focusing on the dangers of pornography and keeping kids safe- see the calendar of events

Working Together .. Achieving More!
Protecting vulnerable homeless teens -  Rod's House provides a drop-in center for youth age 14-18 from 3-6pm. They can get a hot meal, use the computers, meet with tutors, wash clothes, take a shower, and get help with the challenges of daily life. Many of these teens, due to the precarious situation they live in, are potential victims of traffickers.
How can you help?  Cook a meal, make a donation, talk about the needs within your circle of friends.  Learn more at rodshouse.org
