I hope you enjoyed the summer and are looking forward to transitioning into fall. Following the close of the Black Women in Europeâ„¢ Social Network on the Ning platform I want to update you on how we have been kept together.  The explosion of social media has provided several options to stay connected and grow using platforms where we already have profiles.  We are now thriving on Facebook and LinkedIn. It has been heartwarming to see so many of you there. Moving forward a monthly email, like this one, will also provide updates and timely information.

The annual Black Weblog Awards voting has opened. We were honored in 2007 during our very first blogging year to win both the judges and popular vote in the International category.

Six years later and we’re still here and a lot has happened. We launched a social network, two Facebook groups and a professional women’s group on LinkedIn.

We have compiled three Power Lists and spoken at BlogHer in San Francisco and at a black culture festival in Amsterdam.
But best of all? We have continued to shine the spotlight on ordinary and extraordinary black women in Europe. Yay!

Is there any reason why you won’t vote for us in the International category of the 2013 Black Weblog Awards? I hope not. Vote here today and spread the word to do the same. Thank you!
All are invited to join us on Facebook. Based on where you live join the group for women living in Europe, or if you live outside of Europe join our International Group co-administered and co-moderated by Laura Bazile (merci Laura!). Sisters who live in Europe should feel free to join both based on your needs.

For strictly professional networking women in Europe are invited to join our LinkedIn Group.

We are on Twitter and if you are too send us a Tweet asking to be included on our Black Women in Europeâ„¢ Twitter List.

Subscribe to our YouTube Channel to keep up with dynamic women across Europe.

You can even join us on Google + and Pinterest!

And as always you can contact me on so we are always just an email away from each other.
