August 2014

You are receiving my Newsletter because you have purchased one of my musical instruments or music I’ve written, or you follow one of my blogs: Gospel Ukulele, Ukulele Perspective or Wood Beads. I'm working to combine these blog into one blog --  Check my Etsy store for my musical instruments and jewelry.

What am I creating?
Inspired by the turquoise I saw during a trip to Arizona, I am working on a Turquoise Flute series. The flutes have turquoise inlay and accents. Read more about my exploration of turquoise -- including learning about the differences in turquoise from the Sleeping Beauty and Kingman mines.
Learning at Arrowmont
Thanks to a scholarship from the American Association of Woodturners, I'll be attending a workshop this month at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, in Gatlinburg, Tenn. I'm taking Molly Winton's "Pyrography and Minature Hollow Vessels."
Getting ready for fun at Flute Haven
Great to see Lynn and Eric Miller with my flutes when they were at workshops in Jacksonville, Fla. I'll be joining them for Flute Haven, Sept. 9-14, in Valley Forge, Penn. I'm working on flutes and kanteles that I'll be selling as one of the Flute Makers in Residence during the event.
