Moving Toward Reopening
Tri-County Arts Council’s DEC Grant

Grant awarded to help install cleaning stations, supplies and more

On the Road To Reopening

While the country is moving in the right direction with vaccines becoming more readily available each day, we here at The Olean Theatre Workshop are moving toward returning to normal as well. We are proud to announce that we are a recipient of the Tri-County Arts Council’s DEC Grant, so when we reopen, you will notice some improvements for your safety. This grant will help us to install touchless equipment such as faucets, soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers and hand sanitizing stations, allowing our audience members and performers to take proper precautions against the virus. It will also help to pay for a professional deep clean of the entire building that will be needed to keep our theatre family safe.
We want to take a moment and thank everyone at the Tri-County Arts Council. Through their continued support over the years, The Olean Theatre Workshop has been able to bring you quality family friendly performances and will be able to come back stronger than ever. We would also like to thank the Catt. County Health Department. Once we have updated the inside of the theatre, the Health Department has agreed to train our staff and volunteers in order to keep all of you safe. We know that it has been a hard year for so many, but soon enough the lights will come back on and the curtain will go back up here at the Olean Theatre Workshop. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay happy, and we hope to see you (soon) at the show!

Our Plan
Before we open to the public, we will implement an enhanced environmental cleaning throughout our theater and work spaces including:
  • Additional cleaning of all frequently touched, handrails, doorknobs, and armrests throughout our facility, offices, theaters and backstage areas
  • Ensuring all cleaning agents have appropriate disinfecting qualities in order to provide enhanced germ-free environments at every touch point (all cleaning agents are used according to directions provided by the manufacturer)
  • Addition of hand sanitizer stations and other improvements for artist, employee, volunteer and guest convenience
  • We will follow the lead of national, state, and local public health authorities and implement recommended proactive strategies in all of our spaces as necessary.
  • We will closely monitor the health of all OTW staff and artists. Any staff showing signs of illness or reports of feeling ill will be asked to stay home.
