From the Chair
It has been a very busy start to the year for the Executive Committee, the Assessment and Teacher Training Committee and the formation of the first Moderators Committee for IYANZ.

The Moderators Committee has been formed to give guidance to the Executive and A&TT committees on assessment and teacher training business. Currently it's members are Melodie Batchelor, Monica Haar and Susie Lever.

The Executive committee has been working in conjunction with the Events committee to organise the visit of Manouso Manos who will teach our Iyengar Yoga Association Convention this May in Auckland and Christchurch. Manouso is based in San Francisco and is one of  a few people to hold the world's highest Iyengar Yoga level of certification. We are privileged to have him visit our country to teach in both cities. Manouso's knowledge of yoga therapy is extensive and his teaching style is disciplined although infused with humour. It's time to book now to insure a place on the mat with this world renowned teacher. Look at the IYANZ website for details and bookings.

The Executive Committee has been working on a business programme to streamline and record expenditure. The programme MYOB has been chosen for this purpose. We now have a paid administrator, Demelza Campbell to support the Treasurer and Executive committee where needed. We hope to create greater efficiency and recording of data in IYANZ accounts.

I would like to thank Eira Kramer for her work on the Yoga Link for the past few years. This is a huge commitment which she has taken on and excelled at for our benefit. The December commemorative Link in colour showed the extent of Eira's ability and enthusiasm.
Kathleen Powell is coming back on board as the new editor for the Link.  We have produced this digital issue of the Link using Mailchimp.  We hope that you will like the new format and that it will fit well with your busy lives to keep you informed about workshops, assessments, articles and contacts.

Thanks to all Iyengar Yoga Teachers without whom we could not have a robust association. All Iyengar Teachers help propagate the method for the benefit of New Zealanders.

Take care and enjoy what's left of summer.
Melodie Batchelor
