Dear Community.

I hope you have had a beautiful Thanksgiving and are easing into the holiday season.  Here in Fort Collins, we were gifted with about 18 inches of snow over the Thanksgiving break and a week later things are still pretty white so we are already in the winter frame of mind.

There are a few things to share right now:

First, if you are local, please drop by the farm on Saturday, December 14th, 1-4PM  for a Holiday Open HouseBring the whole family to the farm for holiday photos, time with the animals, and stations with crafts, cookie decorating and much more!  This event is donation based and is a fundraiser for Friends of Laughing Buck Farm Nonprofit.   Proceeds will benefit the adaptive horsemanship program, fund scholarships and other adaptive programs. Our farm house is currently being renovated so pardon the dust. Make your way to the stable through the orchard and we will greet you with some warm cider. If you've been to the farm for summer camps or classes and your kids are missing the farm, or you just want to hug some farm animals, come on by. Hope to see you there!

Also for locals, we have pork available and are excited to share with you, our farm community. We charge $6 per pound (includes processing) and sell in packages for $50 and $75  You will get a mix of bacon, sausage, chops, roasts.    A pig from our farm gets 40-60% of its diet from the extras of our vegetable operation, apple orchard and cider pressing, real food scraps and slops), and is raised out in the fresh air and sunshine and MUD, of course. Oh, and the pigs got lots of love,  hugs, ear scratches and belly rubs, too. :) Pastured pork has been found to have 300% more vitamin E and 74% more selenium than conventional pork. Our pork is at once incredibly lean and deliciously rich. We are proud to offer such a high quality product at such a reasonable price.   Please let me know right away if you would like some. I first share with our farm school families and close community, then open it up to the larger community "pig to love" so she will not be going to the butcher.  Rosie loves hugs and mothers each new batch of baby piglets. The new piglets will be arriving on the 20th of December.   :)

And one more thing to share.  Here is an exquisite song from a phenomenal musician. She might just draw you in as she did me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd6eA1mMkjI

Thank you, as always for supporting our family. Our farm. These animals. This community.  Thanks you for being on the other side of these words.  It means so much. I always love it when you respond and would love to hear what is going on in YOUR world.

Sending love to your hearts around these Holiday days.
