FCC Form 477 Due by September 1
The FCC’s Form 477 filing system is open to accept data as of June 30, 2016, which must be filed by September 1. Form 477, Local Telephone Competition and Broadband reporting, is a required filing for:
- Facilities-based providers of broadband connections to end-user locations
- Wired or fixed-wireless local exchange telephone service providers
- Interconnected VoIP service providers
- Facilities-based providers of mobile telephony and mobile broadband service
Because the FCC uses Form 477 data to implement policy, it is especially important that your broadband deployment data be an accurate representation of where you have facilities in place to provision broadband and the maximum speeds you can deliver for each census block.
For assistance with Form 477 reporting, contact Marty Kluh in JSI's Maryland office at 301-459-7590.

FCC Takes Next Step in NPAC Transition
The FCC this week approved the Master Service Agreement (MSA) between iconectiv and the North American Portability Management (NAPM, LLC), clearing a major hurdle in the Number Portability Administration Center (NPAC) transition from the current vendor, Neustar, to the newly chosen vendor, iconectiv. With this agreement finalized, the Transition Oversight Management team will draft an updated transition project plan and hopefully share it with the industry on its webinar at the end of August.
iconectiv should begin reaching out to providers soon to begin their initial transition procedures. JSI plans to attend the August webinar for more in-depth transition details to share with clients. We also will be contacting iconectiv to discuss the process.
If you have any questions about the NPAC transition, please contact Bridget Alexander in JSI's Maryland office at 301-459-7590.
