TEDxAmsterdamED 2016: BORN TO LEARN

Last week we have announced the theme for this year's TEDxAmsterdamED 2016 event: Born to Learn.

The program will be more interactive than ever, as we will take the audience on a journey to show them many aspects of learning through time, place and content.

Through this theme we want to explore how we can redefine learning. People are getting older and within our changing society, life long learning is becoming the norm. Inspirational speakers will share their journeys and ideas on how we can make learning a life long companion.

Date and Location

This year's TEDxAmsterdamED event will take place on Wednesday, April 20th. Like last year, location will be  at Theater Amsterdam, Danzigerkade 5, Amsterdam.

Tickets (€ 75) will be available from March 2016 via the website only. We will also provide a live stream via our website.

Please find more information about the event on our website.

The TEDxAmsterdamED Award

In 2016 we are introducing the TEDxAmsterdamED Award. We want to create a platform for people and organisations with great ideas about life long learning, so they can expand their impact.

As the theme is Born to Learn, we are looking for ground-breaking ideas on education or (life long) learning! The top three ideas will get a chance to pitch at the main event and one of them will win the first TEDxAmsterdamED Award! The winner of the Award will receive support from our partners to grow and accelerate their idea. Apply before 14 March for your chance to participate.

More information can be found on our website.

TEDxAmsterdamED BrainTrust 2016

For this year's TEDxAmsterdamED we are forming a TEDxAmsterdamEducation BrainTrust, because our learning network is rapidly growing and we like to expand our outreach in different important areas like business, government, NGO’ s and cultural institutions. We are selecting a Brain Trust of 6 movers and shakers with hearts, heads and hands in education. People who want to learn every day.

The Braintrust of 2016 will help us design the different TEDxAmsterdamED Events in 2016. They will share their ideas, raise and answer questions, give constructive feedback and play a bridging role by the growing believe that education is the key to change the world.

Team's Favourite TED talk

Every newsletter one of our TEDxAmsterdamED team members will share their favourite TED talk on education with you. This newsletter is up to Linda Stolp, Managing Director.

"Just two weeks ago I visited the Green School in Bali, Ubud. I was working remotely from Bali which has been a great experience. And of course being so close to the Green School I could not leave Bali without visiting this world's greenest school and biggest bamboo campus.

Did you know that 70% of their energy comes from solar panels? And when I was visiting they were teaching a thematic lesson about coconuts. How cool is that!"
